Vanguard Warning After a Third-Party Download: What Now?

Closed thread Closed by archive

Hypothetical situation: someone downloads a random gaming tool, runs it, and then Vanguard starts showing a warning or the PC behaves strangely. What's the sensible first move?

My instinct would be to stop launching the tool, avoid turning off security features to make it run, remove the suspicious download using normal Windows tools, and run a security scan. If the game itself still won't launch, I'd check the official VALORANT support guidance instead of trying random registry fixes from a comment section.

Anything important missing? Please keep it to safe troubleshooting, not bypass steps.

Do not download a second mystery tool to "fix" the first mystery tool. That's how the plot gets a sequel.

Also change passwords from a clean device if you entered your account login into a sketchy page. Especially if you reused that password elsewhere.

I'd keep the warning screenshot and note what was installed immediately before it appeared. That gives support something concrete.

Would uninstalling the game fix it?

Not necessarily. If the issue is the downloaded program or account security, reinstalling the game isn't a full security check. Follow official instructions and don't guess.
